Ken Adams is NewWave’s Executive Vice President, Cyber Security. Ken brings extensive executive and sales experience to NewWave, including deep relationships with federal and commercial customers, strong operations/delivery/recruiting/marketing leadership, and proven practice development experience. In his role as the EVP of Cyber Security, Ken will focus on contributing to NewWave’s growth, establishing a cybersecurity practice, building business partnerships, and expanding on the company’s cyber-related capabilities. He boasts relationships across numerous federal entities as well as with contractors/teaming partners that range from the largest implementers to small businesses that span the socioeconomic spectrum.

Ken also serves as the Industry Chair of the ACT-IAC Cyber Community of Interest, which provides opportunities for industry and federal government members to identify, focus on, raise awareness of, and provide solutions to cybersecurity challenges critical to protecting our national interests. In that capacity, Ken sets strategic goals with Executive Committee, is responsible projects that help public servants better address challenges delivering quality services, recruits members and leaders, and oversaw monthly membership meetings that featured speakers including Josh Moses, Chief, Federal Cybersecurity, OMB; Greg Crabb, CISO, US Postal Service; Chris Todd, CISO, NIH; Servio Medina, Chief of Cybersecurity Oversight, Governance, and Strategy, DHA ; and Steven Hernandez, CISO, Department of Education.

In addition, Ken is a member of the Department of Health and Human Services HCIC Task Force Alignment Subgroup—a volunteer working group from the health care industry helping HHS respond to the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act, Section 405d mandate—for the HHS secretary “to lead a task group to put together a set of voluntary, consensus-based principles and best practices for cybersecurity in the health sector.” Ken serves on the subcommittee that is charged with synchronizing working group efforts with the Health Care Industry Cybersecurity task force’s report to Congress.
Prior to NewWave, Ken founded KPMG’s Federal Advisory Cyber practice. As the first federal advisory cyber hire, Ken was responsible for all aspects of establishing and ultimately growing KPMG Federal Cyber into multi-million-dollar practice with capabilities across the spectrum of cyber services. He was responsible for Cyber business development, project execution, and recruiting across all federal sectors. Ken’s team maintained a $150M+ pipeline and had access to over 520 cyber capable resources in the KPMG federal practice.

Ken’s 17+ years includes prior roles at organizations including Deloitte, BearingPoint, the Government Accountability Office, a previous stint at KPMG supporting state and local government, and the Office of Governor Jim Edgar (IL).

Ken holds a joint degree—J.D. and Master of Public Affairs—from Indiana University and a B.A. from Bradley University. He also is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional.

Beyond work, Ken enjoys cooking, exercising, traveling, and spending time with his wife and two boys. He volunteers with the Posse Foundation and has served as a volunteer recreational soccer coach.
