Coming Together in Response to COVID-19

To our healthcare workers, federal contractors and to every team member at NewWave: Thank you. It’s hard to express our gratitude for the sacrifices you’ve made and your commitment to helping us solve for the greater good, despite the challenges resulting from the COVID-19 crisis.

Our thoughts are not only with all the doctors and nurses, but with our own team members here at NewWave who are adjusting to life as parents, new roles home school teachers, and are still caring for their own families every single day. We have all been impacted in some way by the virus and it’s in these challenging circumstances we realize how much we truly need one another.

Over the last few months, NewWave became a fully remote organization across all our offices in Maryland, Iowa and Mississippi. This change brought new opportunities for us communicate, innovate and connect as one team in ways we never have before. As we closely monitor COVID-19 and CDC guidelines surrounding health and safety, we are finding new ways to gather bi-monthly as an organization over Zoom radio calls. These meetings are an opportunity for employees to share their concerns, ask questions, and hear the latest updates from the company surrounding our COVID-response.

We are also making an impact through the philanthropic arm of NewWave Tech. The Newwave Foundation (NWF), has made donations to No Kid Hungry and the Centers for Disease Control Foundation to support emergency food assistance programs and provide medical resources to doctors and nurses during this time.

At NewWave, we have incredible technologists who are working to provide value-based solutions to help businesses and government agencies do their essential work. It’s our goal to create solutions and products that will make a difference in the lives of others. Today, that has not changed.

As a trusted systems integrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and as the prime contractor for the CMS Innovation Center (CMMI), we are building technology to support the creation of innovation models which leverage FHIR and value-based interoperability. Our experiences at CMMI have also allowed us an opportunity to discuss COVID-19 with the CMS Office of Information Technology and offer our support to any of their needs as a result of the Coronavirus.
