NewWave Expands Executive Leadership Team with Hiring of Patrick Gerdes, PMP, ACHE, HIMSS

Elkridge, MD, January 14, 2020 – NewWave Telecom and Technologies, Inc. (“NewWave”), a full-service Information Technology (IT), Business Services and Data Management company, specializing in developing mission-critical Healthcare IT solutions using state-of-the-art technologies, announces Patrick F. Gerdes has joined its Executive Leadership Team as Senior Vice President of Operations.

Gerdes brings more than 30 years of proven experience in system-of-systems engineering and integration, enterprise architecture and expertly socializing and implementing research for proven results. Patrick is a member of both the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). Formerly part of MITRE Corporation’s senior leadership team for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Alliance to Modernize Healthcare (CAMH), the nation’s first federally funded research and development center (FFRDC) broadly focused on health and healthcare. Gerdes also previously led strategic initiatives for CMS, the National Institutes of Health, HHS’s Office of Medicare Hearings & Appeals, and the Office of e-Health Standards and Services as a principal of Noblis’ Health Innovation Mission Area.

In his role at NewWave, Gerdes will provide expert counsel to advance NewWave’s approach to program delivery excellence and strategies to foster resilient relationships and the highest quality service for customers in this time of rapid technological change across the healthcare ecosystem. Gerdes earned a B.S. in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.Sc. in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering from Stanford University.
