NewWave + Microsoft: Embracing Change to Drive Digital Transformation
In Microsoft’s latest partner-focused blog, Enabling Innovation and Business Resilience, Nick Parker, Microsoft Corporate Vice President, Global Partner Solutions illustrates the true value of partner-driven collaboration at Microsoft and how members of the Microsoft partner ecosystem are influencing, supporting, and enabling solutions to drive digital transformation, despite various challenges and a global pandemic.
Along with what feels like the rest of the world, NewWave became a fully remote organization in the spring of 2020 in response to COVID-19. Although our corporate teams were not able to connect in person, NewWave and our growing Microsoft Practice, led by Vignesh Rajan, Vice President of Engineering and Microsoft Solutions, quickly adapted, and developed new ways to work together and push forward, relying on Microsoft tools (such as Microsoft Teams) more than ever before.
NewWave led the first deployment of Databricks in Microsoft Azure
In June, NewWave’s integrative relationship with Microsoft provided an opportunity to achieve the largest implementation of Azure to-date through our microservices-based architecture execution of Databricks in Microsoft Azure. Our solution, developed for the Innovation Design and Operations Support (IDOS) contract to build the technology infrastructure for the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Innovation Center (CMMI), considers the current and future needs of CMS across the data lifecycle: including data collection, data science, visualization, and complex reporting.
“Technology is more important than ever,” said Nick Parker, Microsoft Corporate Vice President, Global Partner Solutions. “In times like these, partners who embrace change have opportunities to drive digital transformation around the world.”
NewWave’s optimization of CMS architecture and applications in the Microsoft Azure for Government Services (MAG) Cloud has allowed the largest federal agency outside of the Department of Defense to realize the true value of Cloud migration, and we’re just getting started.
NewWave is a Kubernetes Advanced Specialization Partner
In August, NewWave achieved the Kubernetes on Microsoft Azure advanced specialization, demonstrating our expertise with managing Kubernetes environments hosted in Microsoft Azure.
“This is a phenomenal accomplishment for NewWave,” said Vignesh Rajan, Vice President of Engineering and Microsoft Services at NewWave. “As a Microsoft Gold Managed Partner, we look forward to leveraging Azure Kubernetes Services to modernize any application for our customer and make the most of the Azure cloud.”
NewWave’s Kubernetes advanced specialization adds to our portfolio of services we can provide as a trusted Microsoft Gold Partner to customers who are looking to modernize their applications. At NewWave, we recognize the true value and opportunity in making the most of the Azure cloud and our team works hard to consistently design and deliver best-in-class cloud-native capabilities with Azure.
Standing in Solidarity: Supporting the Black Channel Partner Alliance
NewWave is committed to pursuing anti-racist data science for the federal government by encouraging data scientists, developers, and engineers to take responsibility and become part of the solution towards a more equitable and just world, but our pledge to pursue change is not enough. In January, NewWave registered with the Black Channel Partner Alliance, standing with Microsoft to support initiatives that combat racial injustice through the power of technology.
“We need to recognize that we are better, smarter and stronger when we consider the voices, the actions of all communities, and you have my assurance that Microsoft will continue to advocate to have all those voices heard and respected.” – Satya Nadella, Addressing Racial Injustice
